School Camps
We would like to advise that we are now registered as an Adventure Activity Operator (AAO) with Worksafe NZ. The regulations aim to enhance professionalism and ensure consistent good practice across the OOA sector. (pursuant to Regulation 6(1) of the Health and Safety in Employment (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2011.)
Totara Springs Christian Centre is the perfect place for your next school camp. Our facilities lend themselves to an action-packed programme - including our large gymnasium, six playing fields, hot pool, aviary, and a wide range of other activities. We also have a range of indoor venues and specialist equipment to support your programme.
When you book a camp at Totara Springs you liaise with your Bookings co-ordinator and a Programmer who will work with you through each facet of your activities. We recommend that you make an appointment to meet with us onsite to view the facilities and activities, work through any questions and special requests you may have and to discuss the objectives and needs of your group for the EOTC component of your camp.
All pricing, accommodation, venue and facility requirements, meals and special diets and any other special requirements will be handled by the booking administrator who will coordinate with the programming/instructing team and your dedicated host.

Education Outside The Classroom
At Totara Springs we pride ourselves on developing and offering high quality EOTC that enhances your classroom programme and provides a diverse range of outdoor education experiences. Our programmes and activities are designed to encourage the values and key competencies as stated in the New Zealand Curriculum Framework (2007). Our primary focus is Outdoor Education in which we endeavour to support the aims and objectives of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum within integrated units that can enhance students learning in other key curriculum areas.
We recognise the holistic nature of learning and encourage you to work alongside our staff to develop the camp that best fulfils your aims. We offer a range of quality, structured learning programmes - as well as having the flexibility to tailor make sessions to your specific needs.
Think outside the box and talk to your host about how Totara Springs can provide Education Outside of the Classroom in any or all strands of the New Zealand Curriculum. Wherever possible your Totara Springs host will assist your group in achieving your desired outcomes.
