Tōtara Springs is the largest ministry of its kind in New Zealand and is the ultimate venue for church retreats, school camps, sports activities, business conferences, artistic events, holiday camps and family reunions. We are situated in a beautiful setting, nestled at the foot of the Kaimai mountain ranges in Matamata. There are 90 acres of park-like grounds and native bush with streams, walks and bush trails. We have a large indoor sports and activity centre and breakaway areas, as well as a large hot pool fed by natural springs. We have guests of all ages who travel from afar to enjoy our beautiful setting and outstanding hospitality.

About the role:

With your energetic ministry development team, there is much to do. Your powers of persuasion, delegation and organisation skills will be tested. Even with a clear plan, anything can happen. Your events team will come to rely on your calm and grounded approach to problem-solving and health & safety expertise to troubleshoot whatever comes up.

As a contributor to Leadership training, Internship and Holiday Camp Programmes, you will be a clear communicator with the ability to tick off a task list with ease. You will be known for your initiative and support when working with others. All forms of communications will be a natural strength of your skillset, whether it be as the ‘face' of the event, preparing programme reports or building relationships with our guests, volunteers, and our wider community.

About you:

Our ideal Ministry Development Team Member values self-awareness, empathy and accepts every challenge with a growth mind-set. We need a successful team member with strong administrative skills, creativity and energy to develop strong camp programmes and volunteers.

If you have worked in a Christian camping organisation before or have experience in leading faith-based youth programmes and large events, you will appreciate the challenges and opportunities involved. As someone who listens, learns and adapts to each situation, you will quickly figure out how to support the team to accomplish the ministry of Totara Springs.
