Tōtara Springs is the largest centre of its kind in New Zealand and is the ultimate venue for church retreats, school camps, sports activities, business conferences, artistic events, holiday camps and family reunions. We are situated in a beautiful setting, nestled at the foot of the Kaimai mountain ranges in Matamata. There are 90 acres of park-like grounds and native bush with streams, walks and bush trails. We have a large indoor sports and activity centre and breakaway areas, as well as a large hot pool fed by natural springs. We have guests of all ages who travel from afar to enjoy our beautiful setting and outstanding hospitality.
About the role:
We know there is someone out there with the call to be the friendly face of Totara Springs office.
This person will value timely communication and efficient administrative systems that enable them to collaborate and focus on what they do best. This position has significant workload peaks scattered throughout the year, mostly up to and during school holidays. You must have the initiative to roll up your sleeves and work through the task list with determination and focus.
Your list of responsibilities is diverse and wide-ranging. From helping guests with a wide range of questions to assisting with bookings. Important to your role will be connecting with guests and visitors in a manner where your smile and willingness to help will always be seen, and be evident on the phone and in all of your communications.
About you:
Being dynamic, efficient, pragmatic, empathetic and conscientious are the top 5 attributes we are seeking. If you have worked in a Christian camping organisation before or have experience in customer relations, you will appreciate the challenges and opportunities involved.
With a team of energetic team leaders and members, and ever changing guests, there is much to do. Your powers of adaptability, persuasion, and organisation skills will be tested. Even with a clear plan and the right systems, anything can happen. Your team will come to rely on you having your finger on the pulse and the systems know-how to cope with the quick fixes on the spot.
